Bethmann Bank will still be Bethmann Bank
Changes to legal structure effective 10 October 2022
Dear clients,
As you are surely aware from our own communications or the media, Bethmann Bank AG is to be merged into its parent company ABN AMRO N.V. The merger will take effect on 10 October 2022. All Bethmann Bank AG business activities will be transferred to the ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Frankfurt Branch. This requires no further administrative action on your part. All rights and obligations from agreements with Bethmann Bank AG remain unaffected - as does the range of services we offer you.
Bethmann Bank will still be Bethmann Bank
The simplification of our legal structure will not affect our client support philosophy, investment expertise, brand name or personal business relationship with our clients. Bethmann Bank is and remains your first port of call for excellent sustainable asset solutions. Genuine. Sustainable. Private.
Today you are receiving the legally stipulated information on the banking services provided by ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Frankfurt Branch. The enclosed information package details the parallels and differences regarding deposit protection that arise from the simplification of the legal structure.
Deposit protection fund of the Association of German Banks (Bundesverband deutscher Banken e.V.)
Most importantly, we will continue our membership in the deposit protection fund of the Association of German Banks (Bundesverband deutscher Banken - BdB). This deposit protection scheme enables German banks to offer their clients deposit protection beyond the statutory provision. The amount of protection will remain the same. You can access information (in German) on the specific level of protection by submitting a request via the deposit protection fund's website: https://einlagensicherungsfonds.de/abfrage-der-sicherungsgrenze/
Statutory deposit protection
Just as in Germany, all banks in the Netherlands also belong to a statutory deposit protection scheme that is under the control of the Dutch central bank De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and that ensures account holders' compensation in the event of a financial institution's insolvency. Although both the German and the Dutch statutory deposit protection schemes ensure a protection limit of EUR 100,000 per account holder, there are also some differences between the two schemes as detailed in the information package. In the event of compensation proceedings, compensation is paid out by the German Deposit Protection Scheme, which handles settlement in cooperation with the Dutch central bank. We would like
